Trilobite is a software tool for extending human imagination into the natural world through real Darwinian Evolution. It is a virtual modular sound synthesizer designed with enough flexibility to integrate with the Darwin Arts Evolution Engine, which in turn allows you to easily build and grow upon your own synth patch designs by simply choosing what you like from a population of evolved options.
Trilobite is available both as a stand-alone application and VST or Audio Units plugin. It provides the tools needed to visually edit modular synthesis patches, create MIDI-mapped presets from patch collections, and the unique mechanism of evolving utterly original and undreamed of sounds from your own creations and the work of others.

This version of Trilobite is released both as professional and free version software. The professional version must be purchased from and registered with Darwin Arts, whereas the free version is redistributable without restriction, registration optional. For more information regarding license rights and obligations regarding this software, please refer to the license document installed with the software.
This user guide provides a high level overview of the features and usage of Trilobite, both the professional and free versions. In general, the professional version is a superset of the free version, so features available only in the professional version will be clearly marked.
Note that the Trilobite Pro Version will be able to load and play all content created with the Free Version, but the inverse is not true.
